Winter parking regulations are in effect between October 31 and April 15 of each year.

If a snowplow blade hits a mailbox while removing snow from the Village streets, then the Village will replace the mailbox. If a snowplow blade strikes a mailbox or mailbox post, then the Village is responsible for replacement. If the mailbox or mailbox post is knocked down by the force of the snow striking it, it is not the Village's responsibility to replace it. The mailbox or mailbox post must clearly show evidence of the blade striking either for the Village to be at fault.
What are the water conservation guidelines within the Village?
In order to promote public environmental awareness, good husbandry, good conservation practices and to preserve potable water supplies, the use of the Village’s potable water for outdoor watering of landscape and lawns is regulated.

Are fireworks allowed in Algonquin?
Due to the high risk associated with the use of fireworks, Illinois and the Village of Algonquin prohibit the sale, possession, or use of fireworks. Any use or possession of fireworks, without proper permit, can result in penalties ranging from a $100.00 fine to being arrested.
What are the regulations for fire pits?
Permanent fire pits require a building permit and final inspection. Portable fire pits must follow certain size and placement guidelines prior to use. Bonfires and open burning is prohibited unless approved by the applicable Fire Protection District.
What are the regulations storing and parking boats and recreational vehicles (RV)?
Parking of recreational vehicles (RVs) on public property including right-of-way and sidewalks is prohibited. The Algonquin Municipal Code regulates storage of RVs, boats, etc. on private property as detailed below.
