Algonquin Recreation provides recreation services to the entire community. Additionally, portions of Algonquin are served by the Barrington Hills Park District, Dundee Township Park District and the Huntley Park District.
Are fireworks allowed in Algonquin?
Due to the high risk associated with the use of fireworks, Illinois and the Village of Algonquin prohibit the sale, possession, or use of fireworks. Any use or possession of fireworks, without proper permit, can result in penalties ranging from a $100.00 fine to being arrested.

Permanent fire pits require a building permit and final inspection. Portable fire pits must follow certain size and placement guidelines prior to use. Bonfires and open burning is prohibited unless approved by the applicable Fire Protection District.
