The Village of Algonquin, IL

Welcome to the website for the Village of Algonquin!

Algonquin Public Right-of-Way ADA Transition Plan

The Village of Algonquin is completing an ADA Transition Plan for Algonquin sidewalks, multi-use paths, and intersections. The goal of this plan is to improve accessibility for everyone in Algonquin, including people with disabilities. A key priority of this plan will be to improve access to parks and other key public community destinations.

The ADA Transition Plan will:
  • Build on existing data to complete a self-evaluation of sidewalks, multi-use paths, and intersections
  • Identify locations along sidewalks, multi-use paths, and at intersections that limit accessibility
  • Create an implementation roadmap that helps prioritize projects that improve accessibility
  • Provide a clear path for providing feedback to the Village in the future regarding accessibility
  • Incorporate public feedback provided by the community throughout the project

Plan materials and surveys will be posted on this website as available.

Get Involved

Do you use sidewalks or multi-use paths in Algonquin? Are there spots you find difficult to access? We want to hear from you!

A community survey will be available from June 3 through July 8, 2025.

This 16-question survey includes an interactive map where you can pinpoint specific locations that may present accessibility challenges. Your feedback will help the Village prioritize future improvements.

The survey is available in multiple languages:
