Sergeant Robert Salazar Named McHenry County 2020 Officer of the Year
The McHenry County Chiefs of Police Association selected the 2020 “Officer of the Year” from seven nominated police officers. After considering each of the nominees’ actions, Sergeant Robert Salazar of the Algonquin Police Department was named as the 2020 “Officer of the Year.” The nominations and awards stem from their involvement for police actions during the previous year.

Red Mountain Group Acquires Algonquin Commons
Red Mountain Group, Inc. recently acquired the Algonquin Commons with plans to invest nearly $30 million dollars for the re-development, renovation, re-tenanting, and re-merchandising of the shopping center. Read more about plans for the Commons by clicking the link below.

Lions Armstrong Memorial Pool Summer 2021
The Village of Algonquin is making all the necessary preparations to open the Lions Armstrong Memorial Pool this summer on Saturday, June 5. To ensure a safe and fun experience for all our guests, we are constantly monitoring and evaluating federal, state, and local guidelines and recommendations for facility use. The Village of Algonquin is seeking applicants for the position of Lifeguard at the Lions Armstrong Memorial Pool. This seasonal position is responsible for a high-level of customer service and customer supervision by using preventative lifeguarding techniques to assist in the promotion of a safe, family facility. Summer Concerts are Back!
The Village of Algonquin is pleased to invite you and your family to this year's Algonquin Summer Concerts! Concerts are held weekly on Thursday evenings at Towne Park 100 S. Jefferson St. and begin at 7:00 PM. The first concert will be held on July 1. See the full lineup by clicking below.

Algonquin Adopts Parks and Recreation Master Plan
In April, the Algonquin Village Board adopted a Parks and Recreation Master Plan to develop actionable items for the Village parks and recreation services to strive to accomplish over the next ten years.

House Numbers Reminder
Village inspectors routinely identify homes that are without the proper house identification numbers. Village Code requires that all properties be identified with numbers that are attached to the front of the building and visible from the street or roadway. 2021 - 2022 Annual Budget Available
The Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2021 - 2022 is available. Budgeted expenditures this year total $75M, with over $32M budgeted toward capital improvements. To view the budget, click the link below.

Water Conservation Regulations
The Village of Algonquin continues to take a proactive role in the conservation of water. The overall goal of the water conservation program is to educate residents and businesses about the ease of conserving water and the importance of conservation.
