Trustee Debby Sosine Elected Acting Village President
The Algonquin Village Board elected Trustee Debby Sosine as Acting Village President at their meeting on Tuesday, August 4. Acting Village President Sosine will fill the remainder of late-Village President John Schmitt’s term, who passed away unexpectedly on July 25. Click "more" for more information.

IL Route 62 Bridge Overlay Project
The Illinois Department of Transportation is currently in the process of replacing the overlay on the bridge crossing the Fox River on IL Route 62 (Algonquin Road). Completion of this project is scheduled for October 2020, weather permitting. More information on this project is available from IDOT at the below (select McHenry County from drop-down).

Free Fall Brush Collection begins October 1
Free leaf collection on regular collection days, provided by Groot to Algonquin residents, will begin Thursday, October 1, and continue through Friday, December 11. Program details are available by clicking "more".

Trails of Woods Creek Construction Starting Soon
Pulte Home Corporation is scheduled to begin construction this fall of the Trails of Woods Creek residential subdivision, which is on the former Terrace Hill Golf Course property, located on the south side of Algonquin Road and west of Fairway View Drive. Natural features and wetlands on the site will be enhanced and most of these areas will be dedicated to the Village for proper long-term maintenance. Click the link below for more information.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information
The Village of Algonquin is working with local, state and federal health partners to take all preventative steps available to limit the spread of COVID-19. Illinois has entered Phase 4 of the Reopen Illinois Plan following the Stay-at-Home Order. Click "more" to view additional information.

Support Algonquin Restaurants and Businesses
During this time, the Village asks that residents please support Algonquin’s small restaurants and businesses, many of which have pickup, delivery and/or other service accommodations. The link below includes information about stores and restaurants offering accommodations as well as resources for business owners.

Census Takers are in the Area!
The Village would like to remind residents that Census enumerators are in the area as part of the Non Response Follow Up. The enumerators will have a photo ID badge, will not enter homes, and will practice social distancing guidelines. Parks and Recreation Master Plan Surveys Available
We want your input! The Village of Algonquin Recreation Department is in the process of collecting resident feedback and we want you to Plug Into Algonquin Recreation! There are two surveys that can be taken; a general survey of the parks and recreation offerings and an additional survey focusing on perceptions of parks and programming following the pandemic. Check out our surveys today and let your voice be heard!

2020 Algonquin Community Survey
At the end of September, the Village of Algonquin will send surveys to 1,500 randomly-selected households. The Algonquin Community Survey helps the Village evaluate and prioritize public services provided to the community. If your household received a survey, please be sure to mail the completed form back to the Village by October 16. Fall Hydrant Flushing Schedule
As a regular maintenance practice, the Village of Algonquin Utilities Division flushes fire hydrants throughout the Village twice a year. This exercise not only ensures proper operation of each hydrant, but improves overall water quality by moving fresh water throughout the distribution system. Hydrant flushing will take place from September 7 through October 30, weather permitting.
