COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information
The Village of Algonquin is working with local, state and federal health partners to take all preventative steps available to limit the spread of COVID-19. The State of Illinois Stay at Home Order has been extended through late-May. Click "more" to view additional information.

2020 - 2021 Annual Budget Available
The Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2020 - 2021 is available. Budgeted expenditures this year total $72M, with over $33M budgeted toward capital improvements.To view the budget, click the link below.

IDOT to begin Work on Algonquin Road (IL 62) Bridge
Construction on the Algonquin Road (IL 62) bridge over the Fox River by Illinois Department of Transportation District One begins May 5, weather permitting. In order to complete the project, Algonquin Road from Main Street to Highland Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Expect delays and allow for extra time while traveling through this area, or seek alternative routes. Please pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.

Support Algonquin Restaurants and Businesses
The Village asks that residents please support Algonquin’s small restaurants and businesses, many of which have pickup, delivery and/or other service accommodations. The Village has compiled service information about local restaurants and businesses which includes a quick guide for local grub, companies that are urgently hiring, and senior shopping hours and locations.

Senior Shopping Hours
Hours have been established by stores throughout the community to assist the elderly and vulnerable populations with shopping for essential items during the pandemic. The days, hours, and locations can be viewed on our websites events calendar or by clicking the link below.

Old Town Prairie Trail Improvements
Old Town improvements coming soon! Construction on the Prairie Trail in Algonquin will begin this spring and last through the fall. The path will remain open with a short detour in the impacted construction area between the La Fox River Drive pedestrian bridge and Main Street.

Stage 3 South Harrison Street Project
The Stage 3 South Harrison Street project has begun and is anticipated to be completed in 2020, with final restoration in early 2021. These investments will increase the capacity of the water system to provide improved fire protection and increase conveyance within the sanitary sewer collection system to accommodate future development, as well as eliminate sanitary sewer backups for existing residents.

Algonquin Receives Award for Popular Annual Financial Report
The Village of Algonquin was recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting for its Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for Fiscal Year 2018 – 2019.

Spring Tree Replacement Schedule Postponed until Fall 2020
The spring 2020 planting schedule has been postponed to fall. Residents will receive letters in the mail once parkway trees are scheduled to be planted in front of their home.

2020 Spring Hydrant Flushing
As a regular maintenance practice, the Village of Algonquin Utilities Division flushes fire hydrants throughout the Village twice a year. To view the remained of the spring schedule, please click "more."

2019 Water Quality Report
The 2019 Annual Water Quality Report is now available! The Consumer Confidence Report, or CCR, is an annual water quality report that the Safe Drinking Water Act requires a community water system to provide to its customers. Click "more" to see this important report.

Adopt-A-Drain Program
The Village of Algonquin currently manages 2,969 storm drains across our 207 miles of residential roadways. This year, the Village is inviting residents to adopt-a-storm drain in their neighborhood. Click "more" for additional details.
