COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information The Village of Algonquin is working with local, state and federal health partners to take all preventative steps available to limit the spread of COVID-19. To help keep the Algonquin community safe, please do your part to prevent the spread of illness. Spring Cleanup Postponed The Spring Cleanup event in Algonquin scheduled for April 4 and 11 will be postponed and rescheduled at a future date. For more information on this and other Groot services, please visit the link below.
Support Algonquin Restaurants and Businesses The Village asks that residents please support Algonquin’s small restaurants and businesses, many of which have pickup, delivery and/or other service accommodations. The Village, in cooperation with the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce, has compiled service information about local restaurants and businesses which includes a quick guide for local grub, companies that are urgently hiring, and senior shopping hours and locations.
Senior Shopping Hours Hours have been established by stores throughout the community to assist the elderly and vulnerable populations with shopping for essential items during the pandemic. The days, hours, and locations can be viewed on our websites events calendar or by clicking the link below.
Winter Parking Regulations Suspended The Village of Algonquin will be suspending winter parking regulations effective immediately. Overnight parking on Village streets will now be permitted, unless otherwise marked. The Village does request that, in the event of a measurable snow event, residents do make every attempt to move vehicles off local roadways to allow road crews to safely plow snow.

Stage 3 South Harrison Street Project The Stage 3 South Harrison Street project will begin in the spring of 2020 and is anticipated to be completed in 2020, with final restoration in early 2021. These investments will increase the capacity of the water system to provide improved fire protection and increase conveyance within the sanitary sewer collection system to accommodate future development, as well as eliminate sanitary sewer backups for existing residents.
Old Town Prairie Trail Improvements Old Town improvements coming soon! Construction on the Prairie Trail in Algonquin will begin this spring and last through the fall. The path will remain open with a short detour in the impacted construction area between the La Fox River Drive pedestrian bridge and Main Street.

Randall Road Construction Continues The Randall Road construction project is currently 29% complete. Traffic staging as the project progresses will continue. Spring 2020 Hydrant Flushing To improve overall water quality, the Village of Algonquin flushes fire hydrants throughout the Village twice a year. To learn more about this process, click "more".
Cemetery Spring Cleanup Spring Cleanup at the Algonquin Cemetery occurs the first Monday in April each year. Please have all winter decoration removed prior to the first Monday in April. Spring and summer decorations may be placed the last Saturday in April.
Adopt-A-Drain Program The Village of Algonquin currently manages 2,969 storm drains across our 207 miles of residential roadways. This year, the Village is inviting residents to adopt-a-storm drain in their neighborhood. Click "more" for additional details.
