2020 Census Information
On April 1, 2020, the United States will undergo its Constitutionally required decennial count of all persons residing within the nation. Later this month, residents will receive documents to complete for the Census which should be completed and returned by the end of April. Participation in the Census is crucial because it determines state and federal congressional political boundaries and allocated funding. During the month of April, the Algonquin Area Public Library District will be hosting events to help residents complete their Census forms online. Parks & Recreation Master Plan Information
The Village has recently began the process of creating a new Parks & Recreation Master Plan. The plan will help align policy with the current gaps in services related to recreational opportunity. The link provided below will provide more information about the plan and access to an online survey to gather feedback from our residents.

Terrace Hill Roadway Rehabilitation Project
The Terrace Hill Roadway Rehabilitation Project began recently. This infrastructure project will improve underground infrastructure and upgrade multiple streets and pedestrian facilities. North Harrison Construction Update
Crews will continue installing the storm sewer along North Harrison Street. This work will take place at various locations between Sunny Drive to north of Brook Street. Please allow extra time while traveling during working hours; residents may need to follow the Stage 2 detour depending on the location of the construction zone.

Groot Spring 2020 Brochure
In April, the Village, along with Groot, will sponsor a Village-wide cleanup program for single-family residences and townhomes that currently receive residential refuse and recycling services. To view the schedule, please click below.

Coronavirus Disease Information
While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that the immediate risk to the general American public for contracting the coronavirus remains low, they suggest that now is the time for communities to start preparing.

Law Enforcement Polar Plunge for Special Olympics
The Algonquin Police Department is taking part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. We are inviting the community to take the plunge with us! We will be participating in the Palatine Polar Plunge on March 22, 2020. The funds raised for this event go directly to Special Olympics Illinois.

Rain Barrel & Composter Sale
The Land Conservancy of McHenry County is offering rain barrels and composters for a great price and a convenient pick-up location at 2200 Harnish Dr. in Algonquin. Orders due May 4.

Early Bird Pool Passes on Sale April 1
Beat the heat this summer by purchasing your pool pass before the season begins. Early bird pool passes for Lions-Armstrong Memorial Pool will be on sale beginning April 1.

Adopt a Drain Program
The Village of Algonquin currently manages 2,969 storm drains across our 207 miles of residential roadways. This year, the Village is inviting residents to adopt-a-storm drain in their neighborhood. Click "more" for additional details.

2019 Algonquin Community Survey Results
The Algonquin Village Board recently reviewed the results from the 2019 Algonquin Community Survey. This is the sixth year the survey has been administered, asking residents for their input on quality of life factors in Algonquin as well as rating the quality and importance of municipal services.
