Algonquin Freezes Property Tax Levy
The Algonquin Village Board unanimously approved freezing the current property tax levy for the 2019 tax year, keeping 2020 property taxes below 2008 levels. Click below for additional details.

2020 Calendar and Annual Report Now Available
Happy New Year! The Village of Algonquin 2020 Calendar and Annual Report is now available online. The document was mailed to Algonquin residential households at the end of December.

Village Offices Closed
The Ganek Municipal Center and Public Works Facility in Algonquin will be closed on Wednesday, January 1 in observance of New Year's Day. Groot refuse, recycling, and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day for the entire week.

Randall Road Construction Update
The Randall Road construction project is currently 23% complete. Traffic staging as the project progresses will continue. Please exercise caution when driving through the work areas. To sign up for project updates or check on the status of Randall Road, please click below.

Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR)
We are pleased to present the Village’s Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for the fiscal year ending April 30, 2019. The goal of a PAFR is to extract information from our annual audit and present in a manner that is user-friendly and easy to read. Click the link below to view the most recent PAFR.

Now Hiring: Seasonal Positions
The Village is currently hiring for the positions of Seasonal Maintenance Worker, Seasonal Lifeguard, and Early Childhood/Youth Program Instructor. For more information, click below.

Christmas Tree Collection
Groot will collect Christmas trees at no charge on your normal collection day throughout the month of January. Click "more" for details.

Holiday Lights Collection
The Village will offer holiday light recycling through January 22 at Ganek Municipal Center, 2200 Harnish Drive. Most holiday lights will be accepted; please refrain from dropping off household lights. Click 'more' to view the list of accepted and unaccepted items.

Parkway Tree Trimming Schedule
The Village of Algonquin will be performing parkway tree trimming starting in December through March 2020 in the general area east of Illinois Route 31, north of Souwanas Trail, west of Haegers Bend Road, and south of the Village's northern boundary.

Winter Parking Regulations
Winter parking regulations are in effect between October 31 and April 15 each year. Overnight street parking requests may be submitted online. Click the link below for additional details.

Sidewalk Snow Removal
As the snow begins to fall, the Village of Algonquin would like to remind residents of their responsibility to remove snow and ice accumulating on the abutting sidewalks within 24 hours after any snowfall has ceased.

A wide variety of courses are being offered throughout the coming winter and spring months for all ages. Courses being offered during this time include Ice Fishing 101, Core Strength Yoga, and Pee Wee Sports. Click below to view offered courses and additional information.

Law Enforcement Polar Plunge for Special Olympics
The Algonquin Police Department is taking part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. We are inviting the community to take the plunge with us! We will be participating in the Palatine Polar Plunge on March 22, 2020. The funds raised for this event go directly to Special Olympics Illinois.
