Algonquin Celebrates the Completion of the Old Town Algonquin Revitalization Project
On Tuesday, November 19, Village officials, along with local business owners and the community-at-large, joined together to celebrate the completion of the Old Town Algonquin Revitalization Project in Historic Downtown Algonquin.

New Water and Sewer Rates in Effect
An increase in water and sewer utility rates was applied with your November utility bills. This increase is a part of a multi-year program to fund the increased construction investment over the upcoming years to provide safe and environmentally sound water and sewer services. Join us for Miracle on Main on December 7!
Join us December 7 at 5:30pm for our Annual Tree Lighting at the Plaza (2 S. Main St.) and the arrival of Santa and his Reindeer with our Miracle on Main event down on our newly opened Downtown Main Street. Additional information found below.

Algonquin Freezes Property Tax Levy
The Algonquin Village Board unanimously approved freezing the current property tax levy for the 2019 tax year, keeping 2020 property taxes below 2008 levels. Click below for additional details.

Village Offices Closed
The Ganek Municipal Center and Public Works Facility in Algonquin will be closed on Tuesday, December 24, and Wednesday, December 25. Additionally, the Ganek Municipal Center and Public Works Facility in Algonquin will also be closed on Wednesday, January 1. Click below for Groot refuse and recycling collection information.

Holiday Lights Recycling
The Village will offer holiday light recycling through January 22 at Ganek Municipal Center, 2200 Harnish Drive. Most holiday lights will be accepted; please refrain from dropping off household lights. Click 'more' to view the list of accepted and unaccepted items.

Winter Parking Regulations
Winter parking regulations are in effect between October 31 and April 15 each year. Overnight street parking requests may be submitted online. Click the link below for additional details.

Free Leaf and Brush Collection Underway
Free leaf collection for Algonquin residents will continue through December 13. Program details are available by clicking below.

Don't Miss Breakfast with Santa on December 14!
On December 14 at 9:00am, we will have our Annual Breakfast with Santa at the Golf Club of Illinois. Registration is required and the deadline is December 6 for the Breakfast and spots are filling quickly. This event includes and professional picture with Santa that you will be able to take home. Vacation House Watch
Planning a vacation this holiday? As a courtesy to our residents, the Algonquin Police Department provides house watch service for when you are away from your home on vacation.

Winter Tree Trimming Schedule
The Village of Algonquin will be performing parkway tree trimming starting in December through March 2020 in the general area east of Illinois Route 31, north of Souwanas Trail, west of Haegers Bend Road, and south of the Village's northern boundary.

Sidewalk Snow Removal
As the snow begins to fall, the Village of Algonquin would like to remind residents of their responsibility to remove snow and ice accumulating on the abutting sidewalks within 24 hours after any snowfall has ceased.

Winter & Spring Recreation Brochure Available
A wide variety of courses are being offered throughout the coming winter and spring months for all ages. Courses being offered during this time include Ice Fishing 101, Core Strength Yoga, and Pee Wee Sports. Click below to view offered courses and additional information.

Christmas Tree Collection
Groot will collect Christmas trees at no charge on your normal collection day throughout the month of January. Click below for additional information.

Randall Road Construction Update
The Randall Road construction project is currently 23% complete. Traffic staging as the project progresses will continue. Please exercise caution when driving through the work areas. To sign up for project updates or check on the status of Randall Road, please click below.

Have you set up your Customer Portal?
The Village initiated a program to replace all water meters with smart meters that provide meter reading efficiency to the Village and usage monitoring to residents. If you have a smart meter and would like to learn more about how you can access and your water usage dashboard, click "more."

Algonquin Earns Budget Award
The Government Finance Officers Association announced that the Village of Algonquin has received it's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the sixteenth year in a row for its Fiscal Year 2019 - 2020 Budget!

What is Police Exploring?
The Algonquin Police Department is proud to participate in the Boy Scouts of America’s "Law Enforcement Explorer Program." Members of the Post volunteer time to various community events and learn the values of the Police Department. The program is open to any boy or girl that meets the requirements which can be found by clicking the link below.

Law Enforcement Polar Plunge for Special Olympics
The Algonquin Police Department is taking part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. We are inviting the community to take the plunge with us! We will be participating in the Palatine Polar Plunge on March 22, 2020. The funds raised for this event go directly to Special Olympics Illinois.
