News
New Water and Sewer Rates Effective November
Effective November 2019, there will be an increase in water and sewer utility rates to fund the increased construction investment over the upcoming years to provide safe and environmentally sound water and sewer services. Click 'more' for additional information.

Celebrate Completion of Old Town Revitalization!
The Village will host a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on November 19 at 6:00pm to celebrate the completion of the Old Town Algonquin Revitalization Project and kick-off the start of the holiday season! The ceremony will take place at the Historic Village Plaza and new bridge on Main Street. The public is invited to attend the ceremony under the majestic holiday lights and visit stores and restaurants in the Old Town Business District before and after the event.

Winter Parking Regulations
Winter parking regulations are in effect between October 31 and April 15 each year. Overnight street parking requests may be submitted online. Click the link below for additional details.

Miracle on Main - December 7
Join us Saturday, December 7 from 5:30-7:00pm at the Plaza on Main Street, for Santa’s arrival and the lighting of the tree in downtown Algonquin. We will have Holiday Caroling, Santa’s Reindeer, Ice Sculptor, Free Hot Cocoa and so many awesome activities from our fantastic sponsors. Toys for Tots donation bins will be on site.

Update on Sleepy Hollow Road Construction
Construction on Sleepy Hollow Road is nearly complete. Crews installed the final layer of asphalt in mid-October and completed the boardwalk in late October. Landscape restoration and miscellaneous touch-ups are underway, with the project expected to wrap-up on schedule in early November.

Village Offices Closed - November 28 & 29
The Ganek Municipal Center and the Public Works Facility will be closed on Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29, in observance of Thanksgiving. Groot refuse, recycling, and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day for the entire week.

What is Police Exploring?
The Algonquin Police Department is proud to participate in the Boy Scouts of America’s "Law Enforcement Explorer Program." Since 2002, the Police Department has sponsored Explorer Post #104. Members of the Post volunteer time to various community events and learn the values of the Police Department. The program is open to any boy or girl that meets the requirements which can be found by clicking the link below.

Winter & Spring Recreation Brochure Available
A wide variety of courses are being offered throughout the coming winter and spring months for all ages. Courses being offered during this time include Ice Fishing 101, Core Strength Yoga, and Pee Wee Sports. Click below to view offered courses and additional information.

Free Leaf and Brush Collection Underway
Free leaf collection began October 3 for Algonquin residents and will continue through December 15. Program details are available by clicking 'more'.

Recycling Q&A: Why Can't I Put Recyclables in Plastic Garbage Bags?
Plastic garbage bags should not be used to dispose of recyclables in your refuse, as these materials are taken to a facility for further sorting and disposal. Please click on the link below for additional information.

Breakfast with Santa - December 14
On Saturday, December 14 at 9:00am at Golf Club of Illinois, enjoy an all you can eat breakfast buffet complete with all the favorites, visiting with Santa throughout the Breakfast, and activities for the kids. Registration closes December 6th and seats are filling quickly already! Register early to reserve your seat for this great holiday event.

The Village of Algonquin's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for fiscal year 2018-2019 is now available online.
