Free Fall Brush Collection begins October 3
Free leaf collection on regular collection days, provided by Groot to Algonquin residents, will begin Thursday, October 3, and continue through Friday, December 13. Program details are available by clicking "more".

Village Offices Closed - October 14
The Ganek Municipal Center and Public Works Facility in Algonquin will be closed on Monday, October 14, in observance of Columbus Day. Groot refuse, recycling, and yard waste collection will NOT be delayed.

Old Town Algonquin Construction
The construction of the bridge over Crystal Creek is nearly complete. The Village hopes to reopen the roadway south of Algonquin Road to motorists on October 15, weather and schedules permitting. Traffic will reopen to southbound traffic while crews wrap up the final utility work on the east side of the bridge. The west side of the bridge is now open to pedestrians, who can enjoy the pedestrian pergola, lighting and new walkway as they stroll down Main Street.

Overnight Parking Restrictions begin October 31
As a reminder to residents, overnight parking restrictions will be in effect starting October 31. Completion of the 'Overnight Parking Request Form', which can be found by clicking "more", must be completed prior to parking vehicles in roadways during this period. Please be mindful that certain time and conditional restrictions do apply to the overnight parking requests.

Halloween Trick-or-Treat
Halloween Trick-or-Treating hours in the Village of Algonquin are from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on October 31. For additional information, including tips form the Algonquin Police Department to those participating, click the link below.

Sleepy Hollow Road Construction
This project is nearing completion! Crews are currently finishing the construction of a new pedestrian boardwalk to provide a safe walkway near Barret Drive. Crews are also working on restoring the landscape along the corridor and preparing for the final layer of asphalt.

Randall Road Construction
The Randall Road construction project is currently 18% complete. Traffic staging as the project progresses will continue. Please exercise caution when driving through the work areas. To sign up for project updates or check on the status of Randall Road, please click below.

Kelliher Park Parking Lot Construction
The Village is in the process of reconstructing and expanding the Kelliher Park parking lot. The contractor has completed installing the new curb, gutter and sidewalks for the project. Crews have also started the concrete work to not only expand the parking lot but also to create new entrances.

2019 Algonquin Community Survey
In late-September, the Village of Algonquin sent surveys to 1,500 randomly-selected households. The Algonquin Community Survey helps the Village evaluate and prioritize public services provided to the community. If your household received a survey, please be sure to mail the completed form back to the Village by October 11. Water Meter Replacement Program
The Village of Algonquin has begun replacing residential and commercial water meters Village-wide through United Meters, Inc. On average, the existing mechanical meters are nearing or exceeding their expected service life. The new meters will replace these units with new technology; offering enhanced efficiency and streamlined meter readings. For a complete overview of the program, please click "more".

Algonquin Howl-O-Ween Dog Parade
This costume parade is especially for those furry family members to showcase their costumes! Awards will be given out for best costume and best owner/pet costume. The event takes place at 1:00 p.m. on October 26 at Towne Park. Click the link below to sign up for this fun family-friendly event!

Fall Hydrant Flushing Schedule
As a regular maintenance practice, the Village of Algonquin Utilities Division flushes all fire hydrants throughout the Village twice a year. Fall hydrant flushing is scheduled this year from September 10 through November 2. To see what areas will be affected when, click "more".

2020 Census Recruitment Information
In an effort to prepare for the 2020 Census count, the United States Census Bureau is partnering with communities and seeking those who would like to help with the process. Click "more" to for additional information about the 2020 Census and current job offerings in the community.
