Sleepy Hollow Road Construction
Construction on the section of Sleepy Hollow Road north of Longmeadow Parkway will continue through August, weather permitting. The project will upgrade vehicle and pedestrian infrastructure, including resurfaced roadway and enhance pedestrian walkways. Sign up for e-mail updates by clicking below.

Randall Road Construction Update
Intermittent lane closures to install temporary pavement to facilitate utility relocation and the building of the retaining wall along Randall Road between Harnish and Huntington will continue during this time. Algonquin Founder's Days
The 2019 Algonquin Founder's Days Festival will be held July 25 - July 28 at Spella Park in Algonquin. The full schedule of events is available online. Click "more" to learn more.

Village Offices Closed - July 4
The Ganek Municipal Center and Public Works Facility in Algonquin will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Groot refuse, recycling, and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day for the entire week.

Sidewalk Repair Program Taking Place
On June 27, Village contractors began work as part of Algonquin's annual sidewalk repair program. Work will include removal, repair, and/or replacement of certain sidewalk slabs in designated neighborhoods. Details can be found by clicking below.

"The Wall That Heals" Vietnam Veterans Memorial
The Wall that Heals, a traveling replica of the Vietnam War Memorial located in Washington D.C., will be at Randall Oaks Park from July 4 through July 7. Algonquin residents should be advised that traffic interruptions on Algonquin Road will occur during the motorcade late July 2. For additional information, click "more."

Are Fireworks Allowed in Algonquin?
Quick answer, no. The Algonquin Police Department would like to remind residents that the sale, possession and/or use of fireworks is not only dangerous, but is also a violation of both State law and Village ordinance. Click "more" for the risks associated with violating this ordinance.

Algonquin Summer Concerts Are Here!
The Village of Algonquin is pleased to invite you and your family to the 2019 Algonquin Summer Concerts! The Summer 2019 edition of The Algonquin Citizen newsletter is now available online. This document was mailed to Algonquin residents with their June water utility bills.

Algonquin Named Tree City USA
The Arbor Day Foundation announced that the Village of Algonquin is again named a Tree City USA community for its commitment to effective forest management. This is the 23rd year in which Algonquin has received this designation.

Need a Permit? Apply Online!
The Village requires homeowners to have a permit for a variety of building alterations being made to a property. This includes items such as building sheds, replacing doors, adding additions, and many more. Once the permit is approved, homeowners will then be able to start their project and follow up with inspections shortly after. Apply for a permit today by clicking below!

Application for Valley Hi Tax Rebate Ends on July 31
