Groot Service Delay, Week of January 28 - February 3
Due to extreme cold temperatures expected the week of January 28 - February 3, Groot routes will not operate on Wednesday, January 30, and Thursday, January 31, causing a one-day service delay for the rest of the week. Thursday routes will be collected on Friday, Friday accounts will be collected on Saturday. Recycling will not be collected. Please contact Groot with any questions at 800-244-1977.

2019 Snowman Photo Contest
Build the best snowman in town this coming year, take a picture, and submit it for our 2019 Snowman Photo contest, winners will be published in a future recreation guide and on our website.

2018 Algonquin Community Survey Results
The Algonquin Village Board recently reviewed the results from the 2018 Algonquin Community Survey. This is the sixth year the survey has been administered, asking residents for their input on quality of life factors in Algonquin as well as rating the quality and importance of municipal services. See below for summary as well as detailed results.

Water Meter Replacement Program
The Village of Algonquin has begun replacing residential and commercial water meters Village-wide through United Meters, Inc. On average, the existing mechanical meters are nearing or exceeding their expected service life. The new meters will replace these units with new technology; offering enhanced efficiency and streamlined meter readings. For a complete overview of the program, please click "more".

2019 Calendar and Annual Report Now Available
The Village of Algonquin 2019 Calendar and Annual Report is now available online, it was mailed to residents in early January.

Winter Parking Regulations
Winter parking regulations are in effect between October 31 and April 15 of each year. Overnight street parking requests may be submitted online.

Sidewalk Snow Removal
As the snow begins to fall, the Village of Algonquin would like to remind residents of their responsibility to remove snow and ice accumulating on the abutting sidewalks within 24 hours after any snowfall has ceased.
