Randall Road Construction Update
Construction that began November 20 on Randall Road, from Bunker Hill Drive and N. Huntington Drive to Harnish Drive, will result in traffic staging due to the installation of temporary concrete barriers separating north- and southbound traffic from the work zone. Please travel through the work zone with caution; being alert of workers and equipment. For additional information and updates regarding the project, visit the link below.

New Water and Sewer Rates in Effect
In November 2018, water and sewer rates increase to fund expanded construction investment over the upcoming years to provide safe and environmentally sound water and sewer services. Click 'more' to view the water and sewer rate study.

Algonquin Freezes Property Tax Levy
The Algonquin Village Board unanimously approved freezing the current property tax levy for the 2018 tax year, keeping 2019 property taxes below 2008 levels. Click below for additional details.

Free Leaf and Brush Collection until December 15
Free leaf collection began October 4 for Algonquin residents and will continue through December 15. Program details are available by clicking below.

Village Offices Closed
The Ganek Municipal Center and Public Works Facility in Algonquin will be closed on Monday, December 24, and Tuesday, December 25. Additionally, the Ganek Municipal Center and Public Works Facility in Algonquin will also be closed on Tuesday, January 1. Click below for Groot refuse and recycling collection information.

Winter Parking Regulations
Winter parking regulations are in effect between October 31 and April 15 each year. Overnight street parking requests may be submitted online. Click the link below for additional details.

Sidewalk Snow Removal
As the snow begins to fall, the Village of Algonquin would like to remind residents of their responsibility to remove snow and ice accumulating on the abutting sidewalks within 24 hours after any snowfall has ceased.

Holiday Lights Recycling Continues
The Village will offer holiday light recycling November 19 through January 21 at Ganek Municipal Center, 2200 Harnish Drive. Most holiday lights will be accepted; please refrain from dropping off household lights. Click 'more' to view the list of accepted and unaccepted items.

Algonquin Earns Budget Award
The Government Finance Officers Association announced that the Village of Algonquin has received it's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the fifteenth year in a row for its Fiscal Year 2018 - 2019 Budget!

Christmas Tree Collection
Groot will collect Christmas trees at no charge on your normal collection day throughout the month of January. Click below for additional information.

2019 Snowman Photo Contest
Build the best snowman in town this coming year, take a picture, and submit it for our 2019 Snowman Photo contest, winners will be published in a future recreation guide and on our website.

Law Enforcement Polar Plunge for Special Olympics
The Algonquin Police Department as well as other area community groups will again be participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Polar Plunge!! The event will be on March 10 beginning at noon at Twin Lakes located at 1200 East Lake Drive in Palatine. We are inviting any/all community members to jump with us to support this worthy cause. The funds raised for this event go directly to Special Olympics Illinois. Please contact Sgt.
