Algonquin Freezes Property Tax Levy
The Algonquin Village Board unanimously approved freezing the current property tax levy for the 2017 tax year at their meeting on December 19. The 2017 property tax levy, which is payable by property owners in 2018, is below 2008 levels.

July Flood Victims Eligible For $750 Income Tax Credit
Governor Bruce Rauner has signed a tax credit into law worth up to $750 for owners of qualified property in Algonquin that suffered flood damages in July of 2017.

Christmas Tree Collection
Groot will collect Christmas trees at no charge on your normal collection day throughout the month of January.

Holiday Lights Collection
The Village of Algonquin, in cooperation with Elgin Recycling, will be offering holiday light recycling November 20 through January 22 at Ganek Municipal Center, 2200 Harnish Drive. Click "more" for details.

2018 Calendar and Annual Report Now Available
The Village of Algonquin 2018 Calendar and Annual Report is now available online, it will be mailed to residents in early January.

Winter Parking Regulations
Winter parking regulations are in effect between October 31 and April 15 of each year. Overnight street parking requests may be submitted online.

Overnight Parking and Home Watch Requests
Overnight parking and vacation watch requests are now available and processed by using our online portal. Click "more" for details.

Styrofoam Recycling
With the holidays right around the corner, the Village of Algonquin would like to remind you of our Styrofoam collection site at the Public Works Facility, 110 Meyer Drive in Algonquin. If you have Styrofoam you need to recycle, collection at this location is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Click "more" for details.

Village Offices Closed
The Ganek Municipal Center and Public Works Facility in Algonquin will be closed on Monday, January 1 in observance of the New Year’s holiday. Groot waste and recycling collection will operate a holiday schedule with service being delayed by one day.

Sidewalk Snow Removal
As the snow begins to fall, the Village of Algonquin would like to remind residents of their responsibility to remove snow and ice accumulating on the abutting sidewalks within 24 hours after any snowfall has ceased.

Build the best snowman in town this coming year, take a picture, and submit it for our 2018 Snowman Photo contest, winners will be published in a future recreation guide and on our website.

Longmeadow Parkway Construction Update
The Longmeadow Parkway Corridor from Huntley/Boyer Road east to White Chapel Lane is now open. Randall Road and Sleepy Hollow Road will undergo development in 2018. Click "more" for details.

Algonquin has over 2,200 fire hydrants in need of adoption. By adopting a fire hydrant and keeping it clear of snow you can help to keep the community safer.
