Arbor Hills Subdivision Improvements

Project Overview
The Arbor Hills Subdivision Improvements project is part of the Village of Algonquin’s ongoing Street Improvement Program, which targets local roadways and infrastructure identified as needing rehabilitation or replacement. The project is expected to address roadway, sidewalk, drainage, and utility infrastructure needs within the subdivision to improve long-term pavement performance, pedestrian accessibility, drainage, and overall public infrastructure reliability.
How Projects Are Selected
The Village evaluates and prioritizes roadway improvement projects based on several factors, including pavement and base conditions identified in the Village’s most recent pavement assessment, roadway age and maintenance history, traffic volumes, safety considerations, utility conditions, and overall construction feasibility. Projects are programmed to enable improvements to be completed efficiently while maximizing long-term value to the community.
Why this Project is Needed
Many of the roadways within the Arbor Hills subdivision were originally constructed in the mid-1990s and are approaching or beyond their anticipated service life. Based on the Village’s pavement condition data and ongoing infrastructure evaluations, staff identified this subdivision as a priority candidate for rehabilitation and replacement improvements.
Completing these improvements now will help preserve the roadway network, improve drainage and accessibility, reduce ongoing maintenance costs, and maintain safe and reliable public infrastructure for residents.
Scope of Work
