Willoughby Farms Park Reconstruction

Project Overview
The Village of Algonquin plans to begin the Willoughby Farms Park Renovation Project in Spring 2026, with anticipated completion by Spring 2027, weather permitting. This project includes the complete renovation and reconstruction of one of the Village’s larger public parks located within the Willoughby Farms Subdivision, just northwest of Westfield Community School. The improvements will modernize park amenities, expand recreational opportunities, and enhance accessibility to better serve current residents and anticipated growth in the surrounding area.
Why this Project is Needed
The existing playground and park amenities are nearly 30 years old and no longer meet current recreation standards or community expectations. With continued residential growth, including the nearby Algonquin Meadows development, park usage is expected to increase. This project will upgrade aging infrastructure, expand amenities, improve accessibility, and provide additional parking to create a safer and more enjoyable experience for residents and visitors.

In addition, State Representative Suzanne Ness recently secured another $250,000 to support the park reconstruction project. The project will also receive approximately $1.25 million in contributions from the Algonquin Meadows subdivision, bringing significant investment toward the redevelopment and enhancement of the park for the community.
