Presidential Park Reopens After Major Renovation The Village of Algonquin is proud to announce the grand reopening of Presidential Park at 700 Highland Avenue. This $6.74 million transformation reimagines the 12-acre space into a vibrant community destination, featuring inclusive recreation areas and expanded amenities for residents of all ages.
Algonquin Unveils Final Master Plan for Willoughby Farms Park The Village has officially adopted the Final Master Plan for Willoughby Farms Park. This comprehensive redevelopment envisions the 12-acre park as an inclusive space for all ages, with updated amenities, trails, and gathering areas.
Algonquin Summer Concert Series Begins July 10 Algonquin’s Summer Concerts in the Park return Wednesday, July 10, with a high-energy performance by Second Hand Soul Band at Towne Park. Music begins at 7:00 PM, with food vendors on site starting at 6:00 PM. Admission is free—arrive early to enjoy dinner and grab a great spot!
Electric Bikes, Scooters & Safety With the increased use of electric bikes, scooters, and similar devices—particularly among youth—it’s important to follow safety guidelines. Please note that e-scooters are not permitted on sidewalks in Algonquin. Help keep our streets and paths safe for everyone.
Lions Armstrong Memorial Pool Now Open for the Season Cool off at Lions Armstrong Memorial Pool, located at 599 Longwood Drive. Enjoy a lap pool, diving board, and a spacious, lounge-friendly pool deck—perfect for summer fun. The facility offers convenient payment options for daily admission and concessions. Season passes are still available, and registration is open for swim lessons.
Help Shape Algonquin’s ADA Transition Plan The Village of Algonquin is developing an ADA Transition Plan to improve accessibility across sidewalks, multi-use paths, and intersections. Community input is a key part of this process. Residents are encouraged to take a short survey and use the interactive map to identify locations that may be difficult to access. Your feedback will help guide future improvements.
2024 Water Quality Report Access Algonquin's latest Water Quality Report to stay informed about the safety of our water supply. This report also includes information from the Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UMCR), which helps the EPA assess the presence of contaminants that do not yet have health-based standards. Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Event – June 7 Dispose of household hazardous materials safely and for free on Saturday, June 7, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Prairie Ridge High School (6000 Dvorak Drive) in Crystal Lake. This event is hosted by McHenry County Department of Health and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.

Water Conservation Status: Green Algonquin’s current water conservation status is Conservation (Green), which means lawn and landscape watering is not allowed between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. As the summer continues, be sure to check the Village’s water conservation status regularly for any updates or changes.
Pesticide Application Notification The Village of Algonquin has started providing written notice in advance of pesticide applications in public rights-of-way, as required by state law. Applications for herbicides and mosquito control generally occur between May and November. Residents are encouraged to visit the Village’s notification webpage for updates and details throughout the season.
