The Village of Algonquin, IL

The Village of Algonquin is expected to begin the Spella Retaining Wall Replacement project in Fall 2025, with completion anticipated by Spring 2026, due to final restoration and weather permitting.

This project will include:

• Replacement of the existing segmental block retaining wall at Spella Park (lower lot), located just west of the Harnish Branch Library

• Replacement is necessary due to the poor condition of the existing wall and the need to ensure long-term safety

• Replacement of a section of multi-use path and curb to complete the wall replacement

Project Area:
Construction will occur along the south portion of the Spella Park lower parking lot, just west of the Harnish Branch Library. A portion of the parking lot will be inaccessible during construction, though it will remain partially open throughout the project.
