Parks & Recreation Facilities
Algonquin is home to 21 developed parks, featuring more than 130 acres of recreational space and an additional 200 acres of natural areas.
Parks are a valuable part of any community—they support physical and mental well-being, encourage social connection, provide access to nature, and enhance overall quality of life. In Algonquin, parks serve as gathering places for families, friends, and neighbors, offering opportunities to play, explore, and unwind. These outdoor spaces contribute to a healthier, more connected, and vibrant community.
To support these community benefits, the Village of Algonquin divides park responsibilities between two departments. The Recreation Department manages programming and pool operations, while Public Works maintains parks, facilities, and natural areas—ensuring these spaces remain clean, safe, and welcoming for all.

Whether you're looking for a quiet spot to unwind or a lively place to play, Algonquin’s parks offer something for everyone. Parks are open from dawn to dusk, unless otherwise noted on-site or during special events. Please help keep them clean by using trash containers and picking up after your pets. All pets must be leashed at all times. A full listing of parks can be found below.

Facility Rentals
Algonquin offers several facilities that may be reserved for private gatherings, athletic use, tournaments, pool parties, and other approved events. Please follow the steps below before submitting a rental application.
How to Reserve a Facility
1. Check availability. Review the facility calendar for the desired park pavilion, gazebo, ball field, Historic Village Hall, or pool rental space. Check Facility Availability.
2. Review rental requirements. Each facility may have different rules, rates, insurance requirements, and use guidelines depending on the type of rental.
3. Submit the appropriate application and supporting documents. Once availability has been confirmed, complete the rental application for the facility you are requesting, and include any supporting documents required in the application.

Park Pavilion and Gazebo Rentals
Park pavilions and gazebos are available for seasonal reservations at select locations throughout Algonquin, including Riverfront Park, Cornish Park, Towne Park, Hill Climb Park, and Stoneybrook Park. These spaces are ideal for birthdays, reunions, picnics, and other outdoor gatherings. Algonquin residents reserving a park pavilion may also apply to possess and consume beer and wine during their rental, subject to approval and applicable requirements. Please note that upon approval of the reservation, the rental fee and security deposit are due in full.
Presidential Park Ball Field Rentals
Presidential Park includes three ball fields, including one championship field, and may be available for practices, games, tournaments, and other approved athletic use. Tournament rentals may have additional requirements depending on the proposed use.
Historic Village Hall Rentals
Historic Village Hall, located at 2 S. Main Street in downtown Algonquin, offers reservable indoor meeting and event space year-round for approved private and community uses. The first floor is available for indoor gatherings and events, while the second floor is available for small group meetings.
Lions Armstrong Memorial Pool Rentals
Lions Armstrong Memorial Pool offers seasonal rental opportunities for private pool parties and other approved group events during the summer season. Please review the rental application and associated requirements prior to submitting your request.
