Join Us for National Night Out in Algonquin!
Save the Date! National Night Out on August 1, 6:00-8:00 p.m., Main Street, Old Town Algonquin. Join us for games, live music, inflatables, snacks, and more with the Algonquin Police Department, Algonquin Recreation Department, Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Fire Department, and Algonquin Area Public Library. Groot Service Price Changes Starting September 1
New sticker and cart prices for Groot services go into effect September 1. Stickers previously purchased will continue to be honored.

Ted Spella Leadership School Returns this Fall
Are you a leader looking to get more involved in your community? Join our program, an 8-month-long Leadership school that will cover a variety of topics from municipal government to our county government, fire and police department, and local service groups. Registration is currently open, and the program kicks off in September.

Algonquin Receives Award for Popular Annual Financial Report
The Village of Algonquin was recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association for its Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for FY 2021-2022, which presents complex financial information in a reader-friendly format.

Sidewalk Repair & Replacement Program
The Village's annual sidewalk replacement program began mid-July. You may notice work crews making repairs to our sidewalks throughout the community while they perform this necessary maintenance. Crews will replace over 3,000 sidewalk squares with new concrete, weather permitting. Residents can contact Public Works with any questions.

Now Hiring: School Crossing Guard
The Village of Algonquin is accepting applications for Part-Time School Crossing Guards at Westfield Community School (7:30-9:15 a.m. and 1:30-3:45 p.m.) and Neubert Elementary School (7:30-8:30 a.m. and 1:30-2:30 p.m.). These positions will work during the school year only, and hours may vary on early release days. Learn more about the position by clicking below.

The Summer 2023 edition of The Algonquin Citizen newsletter is now available online. This document was mailed to Algonquin residents with their June water utility bills.

Water Conservation Regulations
Water conservation status in the Village is currently Yellow. The Village of Algonquin continues to take a proactive role in water conservation. The overall goal of the water conservation program is to educate residents and businesses about the ease of conserving water and the importance of conservation. 2022 Water Quality Report
