Algonquin Recognizes Ted Spella Leadership School 2023 Graduates

The Village of Algonquin is proud to announce the graduation of its Ted Spella Leadership School’s Class of 2023. The graduation ceremony took place on April 15 at the Ganek Municipal Center and marked the successful completion of a rigorous eight-month leadership development program.

"We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2023 and their accomplishments," said Debby Sosine, Village President and alumna of the Ted Spella Leadership School program. "These graduates have demonstrated a commitment to excellence and a passion for making a difference in their communities. We look forward to seeing the great things they will accomplish in the future."

Named after former Algonquin Village President Ted Spella, the Ted Spella Leadership School seeks to bring together a cross section of participants who are eager to expand their community involvement. The program is designed for both "up and coming" leaders and existing leaders who want to enhance their roles in the community.

Additional program goals include introducing participants to key community leaders and organizations, establishing a network of contacts, providing education and training in leadership skills and ethics, and providing participants with an enjoyable experience as they enhance their roles as leaders, gain personal and professional growth, and form lasting friendships.

The graduating class of 2023 includes 16 graduates who have demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities and a commitment to making a positive impact in their communities. The graduates are Luciano Agrusa, Dan Barton, Peter Bell, Laura Brehmer, Gregory Buck, Jessica Jacob, Janis Jasper, Paul Kopetsky, Michael Malone, Pam Meiser, Joseph Menolascino, Pamela Perrott, Brian Rasek, Robert Stangl, Joy Valino, and Craig Wilcox. They are poised to take on leadership roles in various community groups and organizations in the Algonquin area.

The Ted Spella Leadership School has a long and proud tradition of producing outstanding leaders. Since its 2004 inception, the program has graduated 63 participants who have gone on to make significant contributions to their communities.

The Ted Spella Leadership School is scheduled to return in late 2023. To learn more about the school and its curriculum, visit
