Dennis Walker Announced as New Chief of Police Dennis Walker has been appointed as the new Chief of Police for the Algonquin Police Department, replacing Chief John Bucci who has left to join the McHenry County Sheriff's Department as Undersheriff. Walker has 25 years of experience in law enforcement, having worked his way up through the ranks of the department. Please join us in welcoming Chief Walker in his new role with the Algonquin community.
Village Offices Closed on January 2 Ganek Municipal Center and Public Works Facility in Algonquin closed on January 2 in observance of New Year's Day. Groot collection services will be delayed by one day for the week.

Prairie Trail Construction through June 2023 The Prairie Trail in Algonquin and Lake in the Hills will be under construction through June 2023, affecting a half mile section starting from the Meyer Parking lot heading north. Thru traffic and detours will not be allowed due to limited access and high traffic on nearby roadways.
2023 Calendar and Annual Report Available Online The 2023 Calendar and Annual Report is now available and can be viewed online at the link below. Residents should have received copies of their calendar last month.
Holiday Light Recycling through January 18 Holiday light recycling is available through January 18 at Ganek Municipal Center. Most holiday lights will be accepted; please see the link for a list of accepted and unaccepted items.
Snowman Building Contest: Submit Your Creation by March 5 Enter the snowman building contest by submitting a photo of your family's creation to recreation@algonquin.org by March 5, 2023. Winners will be featured in a future recreation guide and on the website.

Reminder: Clear Snow and Ice from Sidewalks Within 24 Hours As the snow begins to fall, the Village of Algonquin would like to remind residents that they must clear snow and ice from their sidewalks within 24 hours after a snowstorm.
Winter Parking Regulations in Effect: October 31 to April 15 Winter parking regulations are in effect from October 31 to April 15. Online requests for overnight street parking can be submitted. See link for more information.
