General Election | November 8
The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Additional information for the General Election, including voter information, online registration, sample ballots, polling locations, and election results, can be found below. Please remember that depending on your county of residence, either Kane or McHenry, information such as polling locations will vary.

Save the Date: Miracle on Main | December 3
Celebrate the holiday season with family and friends and plenty of free family activities for everyone to enjoy on Saturday, December 3, at The Plaza (2 S. Main Street) in Algonquin. Activities will kick-off at 5:00 PM with the arrival of Santa and the annual tree lighting ceremony.

Free Leaf and Brush Collection Continues
Groot will provide free collection of leaves and branches to all Algonquin residents through the second week of December on your regular collection day. Program details are available by clicking "more."

New Water & Sewer Rates | Effective November 2022
New water and sewer rates will be effective with Algonquin customers' November utility bills. For additional details, click "more."

Calendar & Annual Report | 2023
The 2023 Calendar and Annual Report is now available and can be viewed online at the link below. Residents should expect to receive a copy of the calendar in their mail at the end of the month.

Daylight Saving Time Ends | November 6
Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday, November 6. Don’t forget to set your clocks back an hour before bed on Saturday, November 5. As this date approaches, the Village of Algonquin would like to remind all residents to change the batteries in their smoke alarms and CO2 detectors when they turn their clocks back one hour.

Winter Parking Regulations | October 31 – April 15
Winter parking regulations are in effect between October 31 and April 15 each year. Overnight street parking requests may be submitted online. Click the link below for additional details.

Village Offices Closed | November 24 – 25
The Ganek Municipal Center and the Public Works Facility will be closed on Thursday, November 24, and Friday, November 25, in observance of Thanksgiving. Groot refuse, recycling, and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day for the entire week.

Consolidated Election Packets Available
Election Packets for the 2022 Consolidated Election are now available. Three Village Trustee seats are up for election; each for a four-year term.
