Algonquin Comprehensive Plan Wins Kane County Plan of the Year
The Village of Algonquin is proud to announce that the 2025 Comprehensive Plan has been selected as the Kane County Plan of the Year at the 51st Annual Kane County Planners Forum held in December.
This annual award recognizes a planning process that has a meaningful, positive impact on Kane County. Algonquin’s selection reflects the Plan’s strong public engagement, thoughtful planning principles, and a clear path to realistic, successful implementation.
Adopted by the Village Board on November 4, 2025, the Comprehensive Plan will serve as Algonquin’s official policy guide for the next 20 years. The Plan outlines a long-term vision for land use, housing, economic development, transportation, natural resource preservation, and community facilities, ensuring that growth remains balanced, strategic, and aligned with community values.
Winning the Kane County Plan of the Year is an honor and a reflection of Algonquin’s commitment to thoughtful, forward-looking governance. Most importantly, it affirms the value of community participation in shaping the Village’s future.
