Gaslight Terrace North Subdivision Improvements - Pavement Management Program
Project Overview
The Village of Algonquin will complete roadway improvements within the Gaslight Terrace North Subdivision as part of the 2026 Pavement Management Program.
The project includes pavement resurfacing of selected neighborhood streets located north of Edgewood Drive and east of Hanson Road. Approximately 1.25 miles of roadway are anticipated to be improved, with final limits subject to field conditions and construction coordination
The Village’s State allotment of Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds will be used to complete this project.
Why this Project is Needed
Based on staff’s pavement evaluations and field investigations, existing roadways within the subdivision are showing signs of aging and structural deterioration
This project will:
- Improve pavement condition and ride quality
- Strengthen the roadway base where needed
- Address localized curb and gutter deterioration
- Improve drainage capacity and resolve existing stormwater concerns
These improvements will extend the service life of the roadway infrastructure and improve long-term performance within the subdivision.
Scope of Work
Major components of the project include:
- Full-depth pavement removal and replacement on selected streets
- Spot curb and gutter removal and replacement
- Driveway apron repairs, if required, due to curb replacements
- Drainage improvements to address current issues and increase stormwater capacity where needed
Streets currently anticipated for improvement include:
- Zange Drive
- Surrey Lane (north of Zange Drive)
- Windy Knoll Drive (west of Gaslight Park)
- Lexington Drive
- Terrace Drive (south of Windy Knoll)
All work will occur within the existing public right-of-way.
Anticipated Timeline
- Summer 2026: Construction anticipated to begin
- Fall 2026: Substantial completion expected
This schedule is subject to change based on weather, material availability, and field conditions.
Impact During Construction
Residents should anticipate:
- Temporary daytime lane closures
- Construction noise during working hours
- Temporary driveway access limitations during pavement and curb work
Access to homes will be maintained throughout construction, and advance notice will be provided when driveway access is temporarily affected.
