Boyer Road Improvements
Project Overview
The Boyer Road Improvements Project is a comprehensive corridor improvement effort scheduled to begin in Spring 2026 and to be completed by Fall 2026, weather permitting. The project will improve roadway conditions, enhance pedestrian and bicycle connectivity, upgrade underground utilities, and improve overall safety and reliability along Boyer Road.
Why this Project is Needed
The existing roadway and underground infrastructure along Boyer Road have deteriorated and no longer meet current transportation, safety, and reliability needs. This project will replace the failing roadway base, improve drainage, enhance pedestrian facilities, and upgrade water infrastructure to support long-term performance, emergency response, and multimodal travel.
Scope of Work
Major components of the project include:
- Roadway Reconstruction
- Replacement of the failing roadway base
- New asphalt pavement surface to improve ride quality and durability
- Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvements
- Construction of a new multi-use path along Boyer Road from County Line Road to Longmeadow Parkway
- Sidewalk and curb replacements as needed throughout the corridor
- Pedestrian signal crossing upgrades at the Longmeadow Parkway/Huntley Road intersection
- Water and Utility Improvements
- Installation of a new water distribution main to improve system reliability and fire flow capacity
- Drainage and Environmental Enhancements
- Drainage improvements to improve stormwater management and roadway performance
- Environmental enhancements along the corridor
Anticipated Timeline
- Spring 2026: Construction anticipated to begin
- Fall 2026: Substantial completion expected
This schedule is subject to change based on weather, utility coordination, and field conditions.
Impact During Construction
Construction will occur along the full length of Boyer Road from County Line Road to Hanson Road. Traffic detours will be required to maintain a safe and efficient work zone. Residents and motorists should anticipate temporary access restrictions, lane closures, and increased travel times during construction. Advance notice will be provided as work phases, and detours will be established.
