The Village of Algonquin, IL

Beginning November 15, 2025, the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County will suspend their Styrofoam Recycling Program. Styrofoam and packing peanuts will no longer be accepted at any drop-off sites, including the Algonquin Public Works Facility.

We want to thank the Environmental Defenders and their volunteers for all they’ve done to support Algonquin and the greater community through this program.
