The Village of Algonquin, IL
Welcome to the website for the Village of Algonquin!
Storm Debris Collection
The Village will begin storm-related brush collection on Monday, August 25. Please place tree debris (branches, limbs, and trunks) at the curb with the cut ends facing the street by 7:00 a.m. on August 25. Crews will make only one pass through the community that week, so be sure your debris is at the curb at the time. Limbs should be stacked neatly on the parkway/curb, not in the street, gutters, or blocking sidewalks, hydrants, or driveways. This special brush pickup is meant for storm-related tree damage only. The Village will not remove cut material from pruning or other regular maintenance activities.
If you use a contractor or tree service, they are responsible for removing the debris they create. For a smaller cleanup, you can use your regular yard waste service: bundle branches, or place twigs, leaves, and sticks in yard waste bags or containers for pickup on your normal Groot collection day. Stickers will be required for yard waste removed by Groot. Residents (Algonquin Township only) may also take storm debris to the Algonquin Township Brush Drop-Off Site (3702 US Hwy 14, Crystal Lake), open during normal township hours through September 1.
