Presidential Park Reopens After Major Renovation
The Village of Algonquin has completed a $6.74 million transformation of Presidential Park, located at 700 Highland Avenue, reimagining the 12-acre space as a vibrant, inclusive destination for recreation, wellness, and community events.

- A fun, sports-themed playground for all ages
- Outdoor fitness stations to help you stay active
- Exciting Ninja Warrior-style obstacles for adventurous play
- Open soccer fields ready for pickup games or league play
- Scenic walking trails for a relaxing stroll or jog
- Three high-quality turf baseball and softball fields—perfect for both local games and regional tournaments
These features enhance recreational opportunities and are expected to boost local economic growth by attracting visiting teams and families to Algonquin’s east side. “This investment in Presidential Park enhances residents' quality of life and strengthens our local economy,” said Village President Debby Sosine. “The amenities were thoughtfully designed to support both community recreation and future tournament play.”
This exciting transformation was made possible in part by a $400,000 grant from the Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) program, administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
