The Village of Algonquin, IL

The Village of Algonquin is expected to begin the Spella Retaining Wall Replacement project in the Fall of 2025. The work is expected to be completed by Spring 2026 due to final restoration, weather permitting.

This project will include:

• Replacement of existing segmental block retaining wall at Spella Park (lower lot), located just west of the Harnish Branch Library

• The condition of the wall is in poor condition, replacement is necessary for long-term safety.

• Replacement of a section of multi-use path and curb will be required to successfully complete the wall replacement. 

Project Area:

The construction will take place along the south portion of the Spella Park lower parking lot, just west of the Harnish Branch Library. A portion of the parking lot will be inaccessible during construction, but will not be completely closed at any time.
