Souwanas Trail Project Receives Regional Award
The Village of Algonquin is proud to share that the Souwanas Trail Improvements Project has won the Project of the Year award in the Transportation ($5 million - $25 million) category from the American Public Works Association (APWA) Fox Valley Branch. This award recognizes public works projects that show excellence in management, planning, and engineering.

Algonquin Village Board Reviews Community Survey Results
The 2024 Algonquin Community Survey results were recently presented to the Village Board, marking the 12th year of this annual survey. The survey gathers feedback on residents’ quality of life and the effectiveness and value of Village services.

Consolidated Election Information
The Consolidated Election will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.. Find information on voter registration, polling locations, sample ballots, and election results at the link below. Please note that polling locations vary by county (Kane or McHenry).

Daylight Saving Time Begins March 9
Don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour before going to bed on March 8 as Daylight Saving Time begins on March 9. This is also a great time to replace the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.

Willoughby Farms Park Master Plan Project
The Village of Algonquin is developing a master plan for Willoughby Farms Park to guide park design, land use, facility improvements, recreational programs, environmental conservation, and community engagement. The next step in the process is the Master Plan Community Review on March 19 at Westfield Community School (2100 Sleepy Hollow Road), where residents can provide additional input on the park’s future.

Fix-a-Leak Week: March 17-23
Fix-a-Leak Week encourages homeowners to check for and repair leaks to help conserve water and lower water bills. Even small leaks can waste thousands of gallons of water each year. Find helpful tips to detect leaks and make simple fixes at the link below.

Bunny Basket Deliveries are Back!
Sign up for Bunny Basket Deliveries on April 16! The Bunny will make a special stop at your home, delivering a basket filled with spring surprises for your little ones. Spots are limited! Open to incorporated Algonquin residents only.

Service Spotlight: Fire Hydrant Flushing
The Village Utilities Division will be flushing hydrants throughout Algonquin to maintain water quality and ensure hydrants function properly. This routine maintenance helps circulate water through the system. Flushing begins March 31. Check the schedule to see when it will take place in your area.

Save the Date | Algonquin Egg Hunt
The Algonquin Egg Hunt is set for Friday, April 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Algonquin Lakes Park. This year’s event has moved from Towne Park due to construction. Arrive early at 9:30 a.m. to see the Bunny’s arrival and allow time for parking. An area will be available for those needing special assistance.

Blood Drive at Algonquin Area Public Library District
A blood drive will be held at the Algonquin Area Public Library District Main Branch on March 13 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. Register online to donate.

The Village of Algonquin is accepting applications for full-time and seasonal positions across multiple departments. Open positions include Lateral Police Officers, a Plumbing Inspector, seasonal Public Works positions, and seasonal Pool positions. Learn more and apply today!

Summer Program Guide Hits Mailboxes this Month!
The Recreation Summer Program Guide will be mailed to residents this month. It includes details on swim lessons, pool access, sports camps, dance camps, yoga, pickleball, and more! Registration begins April 3.

Cemetery Spring Cleanup
Spring Cleanup at Algonquin Cemetery takes place on the first Monday in April each year. Please remove all winter decorations before this date. Spring and summer decorations may be placed starting the last Saturday in April.
