James B. Wood Park, or Wood Park, in Algonquin spans 25.5 acres, including 9 acres of active park space and 16.5 acres of natural area, featuring a naturalized detention basin that supports local ecosystems. Recently renovated, the park now includes a nature- and bug-themed playground that sparks imagination and play, as well as updated amenities that make it a welcoming space for all ages. Whether you're enjoying a stroll along the walking path, shooting hoops on the basketball court, or joining a game on the soccer field, Wood Park offers a perfect mix of recreation and relaxation.

The park’s renovation was made possible through a combination of state funding and a local cost match.
