About This Location
Merrill Pioneer Park in Algonquin spans 2 acres, with half dedicated to active park space. Located at 1250 Getzelman Terrace, this quiet neighborhood park features a picnic shelter, two playgrounds, a basketball court, benches, and walking paths. It also holds historical significance as the former site of a natural spring that once supplied water to the Village.
The Village of Algonquin received an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant in 1998 from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to help develop this park facility.
