Village Construction Projects - Planned Projects - Boyer Road Improvements – County Line Road to Longmeadow Parkway
The Village of Algonquin is expected to begin the Boyer Road Improvements project in Spring 2026. The work is expected to be completed by Fall 2026, weather permitting.
This project will include:
Replacement of the failing roadway base and asphalt surface for a smoother commute
A new multi-use path from County Line Road to Longmeadow Parkway will be installed for safe pedestrian access.
Installation of a new water distribution main for improved reliability and fire flows
Drainage improvements and environmental enhancements
Pedestrian signal crossing upgrades at Longmeadow Pkwy/Huntley Road
Sidewalk and curb replacements as needed throughout the corridor.
Project Area:
The construction will take place on the entire segment of Boyer Road from County Line Road to Hanson Road. Traffic detours will be required during construction to allow a safe and efficient construction zone. The Village is receiving $1.5 million from the Surface Transportation Program – Local Fund (STP-L) through the McHenry County Council of Mayors and CMAP to help fund the major corridor improvements.
