Text a Physician Program
The Village of Algonquin has launched Text a Physician, a program designed to improve healthcare access for residents, following approval at the September 2, 2025, Village Board meeting. The program was shaped by public input , including a public hearing held on August 19, 2025.
Text a Physician provides virtual access to licensed medical providers through a simple text-based platform. There are no visit fees, copays, or insurance requirements; for enrolled households, the service is funded through a $6.00 monthly charge on the residential water and sewer utility bill and is available for unlimited use.

How Does the Program Work?
Text a Physician is a program that makes it easy for residents to connect with a licensed physician for everyday, non-emergency care. All residential water/sewer utility account holders are automatically enrolled, with the option to opt out at any time . For those who have opted out, restoring enrollment is just as easy — simply complete the Restore Text a Physician Enrollment Form .
- Text 839-887-0365 to connect with a physician between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., 7 days a week.
- Receive medical advice, treatment plans, or prescriptions for common conditions such as colds, rashes, stomach issues, and more.
- No copays, deductibles, or insurance required—service is unlimited for all enrolled households.
- A $6.00 monthly fee appears on residential utility bills. The trial period allows all households to use the program for free before deciding to continue or opt out.
