Electric deregulation in Illinois allows consumers to purchase their electric supply on the open market. A referendum question authorizing the Village to proceed with electric aggregation will be on the March 20, 2012 ballot.

| Rain Barrel and Tumbling Composter Sale |

The Village of Algonquin is pleased to announce a partnership with the Land Conservancy of McHenry County to promote and sell rain barrels and tumbling composters. Different sizes, colors and prices are available. Orders must be placed by April 27, 2012.

| Styrofoam Recycling Continues |
 |
Through a partnership, the Village of Algonquin will continue to offer recycling of Styrofoam at the Algonquin Public Works Facility, 110 Meyer Drive. Bins will be located to the right of the building, near the fence, for dropping off Styrofoam.

| Voter Registration at Village Hall |
 |
Individuals who will be 18 years of age or older on March 20, 2012 may register to vote at Village Hall during normal business hours. The last day to register to vote in the General Primary Election (March 20) is February 21, 2012.

The Village of Algonquin's Economic Development Commission, as part of the Business Retention Program, is proud to present the 2012 Business Awards. This is the 13th year of the program to recognize the efforts made by local businesses to support the community.

| Reminder: Winter Parking Regulations |
 |
Parking is prohibited on any public street in the Village between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Winter parking hours will be in effect until April 15, 2012.

| Sidewalk Snow Removal Reminder |
 |
This winter season, please remember that the Algonquin Municipal Code states that any person occupying a property within the Village shall remove snow and ice accumulating on the adjoining sidewalks within 24 hours after any snowfall has ceased.
