| e-Waste Recycling Event: August 14 |
 |
Dispose of your old, unwanted electronics at the Village of Algonquin's E-Waste Recycling Event on Saturday, August 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Public Works Facility, 110 Meyer Drive, and is only open to Village of Algonquin residents.

| August Construction Update: Work Resumes |

In late July, labor issues were resolved and work resumed on all road construction projects in the Village of Algonquin. Calling all Artists: The Village of Algonquin is organizing a display plan for the sixth year of its award-winning public art program. Artworks will be sited in indoor and outdoor locations throughout the community for up to one year. The program is soliciting the temporary loan of paintings, drawings, murals, fiber works, mosaics, and especially outdoor sculptures.

| Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday |
 |
The Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday will be in effect from August 6 through August 15 throughout the state of Illinois. This legislation will help families pay for back-to-school essentials like clothes and school supplies by waiving the 5 percent state portion of sales tax collected by retail merchants. Items like pens, pencils, binders, paper and glue will be eligible for the reduced sales tax rate.
