Hanson Road is closed to traffic from Huntington Drive to Edgewood Drive to resume construction of Stage 1 of this project. Site grading, utility relocation and roadway restoration will occur on this stretch of Hanson Road through summer 2010, weather permitting.

At the conclusion of Stage 1 construction, Stage 2 work will commence requiring the closure of the Hanson Road and Huntington Drive intersection. Hanson Road will be open to traffic at Harnish Drive south to Edgewood Road, allowing the accommodation of the detour route and the flow of east/west traffic through the Village. However, any passage down the full length of Hanson Road during any phase of the project is prohibited, and violations will be strictly enforced.

Commuters and residents are encouraged to find alternate routes for commuting through this portion of town by using Randall Road, Route 31 and Algonquin Road rather than local roads. If you must travel near the construction zone, we ask that you please follow the designated detour route.

Major construction work for the entire project (Stages 1 and 2) is expected to be completed by fall 2010. However, if there is good weather, sufficient working days and no major problems, the Village expects that the road could be fully open by mid to late summer. Detour routes will be posted throughout the project. The Stage 1 detour route is attached to this press release.
