Algonquin's 2009 Public Art Program, entering its fifth year, will feature 47 pieces of art throughout the Village.  Since the Public Art Progam's inception, over 180 pieces of art have been displayed in the Village.

Village Offices Closed
The Village of Algonquin Village Hall and Public Works Facility will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27, in observance of Thanksgiving.  Refuse and recycling collection will be delayed by one day with Thursday routes being collected on Friday, and Friday routes collected on Saturday.  The Village of Algonquin website remains open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Please visit www.algonquin.org to access Village information at any time.

Service Spotlight: Planning

Service Spotlight is a monthly series which takes an in-depth look at the individual services provided by the Village to its residents and businesses.  November will examine Planning in the Community Development Department.

ECO-Algonquin: Environmental Action Plan
The Village of Algonquin's Environmental Action Plan (EAP) serves as a roadmap to becoming a sustainable Algonquin.  The EAP defines the scope of the Village's environmental efforts and outlines specific strategies the Village is currently, or will employ to meet our environmental objectives.  This plan will be updated on an annual basis and will serve as a critical component to the overall vision of the Village of Algonquin.

ECO-Tips: Packing Environmentally-Friendly Lunches

ECO-Algonquin is proud to present it's monthly "Eco-Tips," available exclusively to e-News subscribers!  With the school year well underway, here are some tips to save money and reduce waste when packing lunches for the school or work day.

Fall Brush Collection

Waste Management will provide free leaf pickup for Algonquin residents through December 15. There is no collection of yard waste from December 16 through March 2010.

Comprehensive Annual Financial Report Now Available!

The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) consists of Village management's representations concerning the finances of the Village of Algonquin. The goal of the independent audit is to provide reasonable assurance that the financial statements of the Village of Algonquin for fiscal year ended April 30, 2009 are free of material misstatement.
