Algonquin's 2009 Public Art Program, entering its fifth year, will feature 47 pieces of art throughout the Village. Since the Public Art Progam's inception, over 180 pieces of art have been displayed in the Village.
The Village of Algonquin Village Hall and Public Works Facility will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27, in observance of Thanksgiving. Refuse and recycling collection will be delayed by one day with Thursday routes being collected on Friday, and Friday routes collected on Saturday. Waste Management will provide free leaf pickup for Algonquin residents through December 15. There is no collection of yard waste from December 16 through March 2010.
The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) consists of Village management's representations concerning the finances of the Village of Algonquin. The goal of the independent audit is to provide reasonable assurance that the financial statements of the Village of Algonquin for fiscal year ended April 30, 2009 are free of material misstatement.
