Private businesses and government entities wishing to enter into an agreement with the department for hiring police officers to work special details for a fee may make requests by completing a Special Duty Detail Agreement, and forwarding it to the Algonquin Police Department for review and approval. The Department may turn down or revoke special details that constitute a conflict of interest, expose employees to high risk of injury, constitute a threat to the status or dignity of the police department, or for any other considerations relevant to the nature of the extra-duty assignment.
Officers can be requested for the following types of special duty:

Traffic control and pedestrian safety.

Crowd control.

Security and protection of life or property.

Routine law enforcement for public entities.

Plain clothes assignments.
