Downtown Algonquin Partnership Mission Statement:
To help increase the desirability of Downtown Algonquin as a destination place for residents and visitors by creating an image that is lively and dynamic.
What is the Downtown Algonquin Partnership?
It is an informal group of downtown merchants, property owners, residents and other stakeholders who began meeting in 2003 to enhance the vitality of Algonquin's Old Town District. The Partnership seeks to preserve Downtown Algonquin as the "heart and soul" of the community and help businesses to survive and thrive.
What does the Partnership do?
The Partnership promotes Downtown Algonquin and holds a Farmers Market in the summer on Thursdays, culminating in October with an Old Time Country Harvest Fest that is held in coordination with the Algonquin Historic Commission's Cemetery Walk. The Downtown Algonquin Partnership is also a member of the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce and businesses involved with the Partnership are able to participate in networking and social opportunities through the Chamber during the year.
Annual Partnership dues are $45 and membership allows downtown businesses to be listed on the group's website (
www.downtownalgonquin.org) and take part in several joint marketing initiatives, such as the Chamber of Commerce's Home and Business Expo as well as various advertising opportunities with publications such as McHenry County Living magazine and the Northwest Herald. Additionally, the Partnership organizes a group mailer that is sent out to new residents each month, featuring downtown businesses and consisting of assorted coupons and advertisements.
