The Village of Algonquin Streets Division maintains about 400 street lights around the village.

 

The street lights in the down town area, Algonquin Rd from Rt. 31 to the east, North & South Harrison, Washington, Jefferson, Huntington Hill, Edgewood from Hanson to the west, & County Line Rd are owned and maintained by the Streets Division.

 

McHenry County DOT as well as KANE County DOT maintain the street lights along their roadways that run through the Village of Algonquin, the other 1000 to 1200 are maintained by Com Ed.

 

If you notice a street light that is out you can call the Public Works Department, with the location of the street light that is out, and the pole number (if available) and we will channel the info to the proper agency to have the problem resolved.

 

If you notice a light pole that is knocked down please stay away and call 911.
