New Water/Sewer Rate Effective November
Effective November 2017, there will be an increase in water and sewer utility rates to fund the increased construction investment over the upcoming years to provide safe and environmentally sound water and sewer services. Click "more" for details.

Daylight Saving Time Ends
On Sunday, November 5, don't forget to set your clocks back one hour at 2:00 a.m. or when you go to bed for the night. Click 'more' for some important safety reminders.

Village Offices Closed
The Ganek Municipal Center and the Public Works Facility will be closed on Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24 for Thanksgiving. Trash and recycle collection will be delayed by one day.

Free Leaf and Brush Collection Currently Underway
Free leaf collection began on October 1 for Algonquin residents and will continue through December 15. Program details are available by clicking "more".

Winter Parking Regulations
Winter parking regulations are in effect between October 31 and April 15 of each year. Overnight street parking requests may be submitted online.

Kane County Pumpkin Composting Drop-Off
Don’t let your waste haunt you! Pumpkin recycling is being offered through Kane County. Click 'more' for details on this event running from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, Saturday, November 4.

Straw Recycling - Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Food Pantry Garden
Don't send your straw to the dump, recycle your straw at the Algonquin and Lake in the Hills Food Pantry Garden, located at 1113 Pyott Road, Lake in the Hills. Leave the straw behind the building next to the greenhouse.

Fall Leaves Recycling - Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Food Pantry
Recycle your fall leaves by bringing them to the pantry to be used in the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Food Pantry garden. Please leave the donations behind the building next to the greenhouse.

Sign up for the Algonquin Express
Join the adventure this holiday season with a magical trolley ride to the "North Pole". Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Registration closes Monday, November 13.

Holiday Rock on the Fox
Come celebrate the holiday season with your family and neighbors at the Holiday Rock on the Fox Saturday, December 2, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Riverfront Park.

Breakfast with Santa

Pet Photos With Santa
Join us at The Dog Waggin’ for your pet photo with Santa. Pet photographer, Rich Chapman will take a picture of your dog with Santa and provide a digital image for you to keep!

The Village of Algonquin is proud to present our new online Building Permit Application and Inspection Scheduler. Make applying for future building permits smooth for yourself by completing it online. Click "more" for details.

Holiday Lights Recycling
The Village of Algonquin, in cooperation with Elgin Recycling, will be offering holiday light recycling November 20 through January 22 at Ganek Municipal Center, 2200 Harnish Drive. Click "more" for details.

Styrofoam Collection Site Reopened
The Village of Algonquin, in partnership with the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County, is pleased to announce the re-opening of its Styrofoam collection site at the Public Works Facility, 110 Meyer Drive in Algonquin.
