The Village of Algonquin currently has vacancies on the following volunteer commissions:

Economic Development Commission

The Economic Development Commission (EDC) meets with the purpose of structuring sound economic programs within the Village of Algonquin. The EDC aids in the Village’s economic development by conducting research and creating an inventory of resources.  More Info

Electrical Commission

The Electrical Commission, a six (6) member commission, adopts rules and regulations to administer and enforce Article 80 of the National Electrical Code, establishes qualifications of electrical inspectors, and revokes or suspends the recognition of any inspector's certificate for the jurisdiction.  More Info

Historic Commission

The Historic Commission is charged with the purpose and goal of fostering the research, development, and preservation of the Village’s history for current and future generations. The Commission is further charged with the promotion of the educational, cultural, economic, and general welfare of the Village by protecting, enhancing, and perpetuating events, actions, and distinctive characteristics of the Village which represent and reflect the Village’s cultural, social, economic, political, and architectural history.  More Info

Public Arts Commission

The Public Arts Commission serves as an advisory Commission to the Village Board and is charged with the purpose and goal of fostering the placement of public art throughout the community consistent with the Algonquin Public Art Master Plan.  More Info
