Algonquin Recognized for Performance Management Once Again
The Village of Algonquin has been recognized for its performance management efforts with a Certificate of Achievement from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Center for Performance Analytics. This is the fourth consecutive year Algonquin has received this recognition. Algonquin is among ten jurisdictions receiving the honor this year.
The certificate program assesses a local government’s performance management program and encourages analysis of results by comparing to peers and gauging performance over time. Algonquin’s performance management program aids in cost reduction, program prioritization, and quality improvement. It also encourages accountability and transparency.
“I am proud that the Village of Algonquin continues to measure its results and use that information to make our services better and more cost effective,” stated Village President John Schmitt.
Algonquin’s performance management program is designed to measure, analyze, and report on the performance of Village services. The goal is to improve results by integrating objective evidence with decision-making processes.
“The certificate program recognizes communities that have demonstrated leadership in continuous improvement and community engagement using performance analysis,” said ICMA Executive Director Robert J. O’Neill, Jr. “Performance analysis is an integral component of professional local government management, and jurisdictions meeting the certificate qualifications serve as examples for other governments to follow.”
Algonquin utilizes performance metrics and analytics for the evaluation and assessment of infrastructure, equipment, and service delivery. For more information, please visit the transparency portal under the Government section of www.algonquin.org.
