Engage, Conserve, Optimize
ECO-Algonquin
The Village of Algonquin prides itself on being a leader in its use of sustainable practices. For years the Village and its citizens have worked hard to have nature preserves, recycling, energy efficiency, protected natural areas, and abundant parkspace, while still providing the services and amenities of a growing metropolitan community. That stated, the Village of Algonquin is pleased to present the concept of ECO-ALGONQUIN! ECO-ALGONQUIN is not the latest fad, trend, or buzzword; it's standard operating procedure. Whether it is developing expansive parks and trails, being recognized as a Tree City USA, converting grass detention ponds into naturalized areas, or even using vegetable oil for fueling our fleet; these are hardly new initiatives but things the Village has been doing for years.
ECO-ALGONQUIN is designed to bring together these wonderful programs and ideas to ENGAGE, CONSERVE, and OPTIMIZE our resources to work toward building a more sustainable Algonquin.
