Miracle on Main
Be part of the community tradition that brings thousands together at Algonquin’s premier holiday event on December 6, 2025.
Ring in the holidays with family and friends at our annual Miracle on Main event in Algonquin’s historic downtown. Enjoy festive activities, live music, Santa’s arrival, and the magical tree lighting. The event runs from 4:00–7:00 PM, with the Merry Market on Main opening at 3:00 PM.

Tree Lighting
Join the community on Main Street as Santa makes his grand entrance at 5:15 PM, leading into a festive countdown and the annual tree lighting on the plaza. Afterward, stroll over to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus beginning at 5:30 PM for photos, holiday wishes, and a memorable start to the season.
Live Performances
Enjoy a full lineup of holiday music and dance throughout the afternoon and evening, with performances on the main stage in Old Town and the festive Merry Market stage.

Location
Miracle on Main takes place along the charming stretch of South Main Street, nestled between Illinois Route 62 and Madison Street, right in the heart of Algonquin's historic downtown. Join us in this festive location for a memorable celebration!

Parking
Public parking for Miracle on Main is available at Towne Park (100 Jefferson Street) and St. John's Lutheran Church (300 Jefferson Street), as well as along Washington Street, Jefferson Street, and La Fox River Drive. Additional parking can be found near the intersections of Railroad Street and South Main Street, along with nearby neighborhood streets surrounding the event area.

What time does Santa arrive? Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled to arrive at the Main Stage at 5:15 PM. Be sure to allow plenty of time for parking to get a spot on the street to see him arrive!
What time is the tree lighting? Santa will light the tree just after his arrival at 5:15 PM.
Will there be live music and performances? Yes, live music and performances will begin at 3:15 PM and continue throughout the entire event at both the main stage and the Merry Market stage.
Where are the restrooms located? Restrooms are available just off the plaza at Historic Village Hall and on Washington Street near the bank.
Where is the free hot cocoa sponsored by Riverbottom? Free hot chocolate will be available outside Riverbottom Ice Cream on the southeast corner of Washington Street and Main Street starting at 4:00 PM. Limited to the first 500 attendees.
Will there be food or drinks available at the event? Bella’s Woodfire Pizza will sell slices, and snacks will be available at the Merry Market. Main Street restaurants like Cattleman’s Burger & Brew, Bullseye Pub & Eatery, Bold American Fare, Whiskey and Wine, Riverbottom Ice Cream Co., and Cucina Bella will offer specials during the event. Alcoholic drinks must be consumed inside establishments.
